BBS Telnet, It used to be a dialup with a comunications terminal program that a user entered a phone number and dialed into a bulletin board system. Today, you can simply connect to your internet provider and simply execute a telnet to a bulletin board system. On a windows based system this is a complete built in function between explore and hyperterm. The following is the syntax commands for how Telnet works. Syntax telnet://sDomain[:iPort] Switches sDomain Specifies the domain. iPort Optional. Specifies the port the login server is using on the domain. Example, you would simply type this in your Explorer Address line. telnet://thekeep.net/ Would take you to a Worldgroup Bulletin Board System called The Keep. |
